ABOUT ME
Welcome to Kind Psychology my name is Amanda O'Neill I am a clinical psychologist working in private practice on the north side of Brisbane, at Kind Therapy House, Zillimere. I have been working as a health professional for over 35 years initially as a registered nurse working mainly in intensive care and then in occupational and mental health areas. I have had the opportunity to assess and provide interventions with people experiencing significant psychological distress which may have been the result of a mental health disorder, substance misuse or situational crisis. I have completed a Masters in Clinical Psychology and endorsed as a Clinical Psychologist. I provide psychological services for individuals experiencing psychological difficulties related to mental health issues, life or learning difficulties, substance use and or their physical health. The feedback I have received from patients and clients over my many years as a health professional is my ability to provide helpful and supportive treatment in a genuinely kind, caring and non-judgmental manner
Counselling
Counselling can offer you a space to talk and think about problems and difficulties, and many people find it helpful to be able to do this with someone who is not a friend or family member. These may be problems or difficulties in relationships with partners, family members, friends or work colleagues.
Psychotherapy - Individual
The types of psychotherapy I generally draw upon included, Parts work, EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and mindfulness bases therapies
Psychological Assessment
In recent years I have decided to focus more on psychological therapy rather than formal assessments used in mental health disorder diagnosies and reports for applications for the disability support pension and NDIS.
